The Beta Alpha Chapter will be competing on Oprah’s Big Give to air on ABC. They will compete against Kappa Sigma Fraternity of FSU to see who can raise the most money for their causes. Each chapter will host a variety of fundraising events including a live telethon on ABC 27 in Tallahassee, Florida. At the end of the contest they will split $10,000 from Oprah's Big Give with the first place winner receiving $6,000 and the second place winner receiving $4,000. Beta Alpha will be raising money for the Delta Success Trust Foundation.

We are pleased to forward the instructions, procedures and guidelines for the special registration of the chapter's voting delegate for the 49th National Convention. Registration will open Monday, March 17, 2008 and close March 22, 2008.

SPECIAL 49TH NATIONAL CONVENTION ALERT!!!!!! REGISTRATION FOR CHAPTER PRESIDENTS TO REGISTER THE CHAPTER’S VOTING DELEGATE WILL OPEN MARCH 17, 2008
Registration will open for chapters to register the voting delegate for the 49th National Convention on March l7, 2008 at 10:00 am EST and will close on March 22, 2008 at 12:00 midnight EST. Instructions, procedures and guidelines will be emailed to the chapter president on March 12, 2008.
Please be sure that an email address is on file for the chapter. If the chapter has not been receiving emails from the national office, the chapter president should send the chapter’s email address, including her name, the chapter name and number to conventionservices@deltasigmatheta.org.
Registration will open for non-voting delegates on April 1, 2008.

Advisors Training will be offered on February 1 in Atlanta, GA and April 13 in Tallahassee, FL.
All current advisors are strongly encouraged to attend a training session, even if your certification is current, and all collegiate chapters are asked to send at least two chapter members to a training session. These registrations will be offered at a significantly reduced rate.

In an effort to highlight the ongoing struggles and triumphs of African American women, NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams will air a special five-part Series entitled "African-American Women: Where They Stand" beginning on Monday, November 26, 2007. This ground breaking news series will focus on education, health, the African American family, political power and more. As Delta women, we should be particularly interested because many of these issues directly correlate with our Five-Point programmatic thrust.
