Why did you seek your position?
I have always had an interest to serve on the boards of the organizations I am active in and there is always something more you can do as a member. Many times we have desires and dreams that life and circumstances lead you to forget about or never pursue. When I learned of the chance to run for the position of Regional Representative at the Southern Regional Conference I knew this was an opportunity that God put in place for me. I prayed about it every day and ask for the courage and faith to represent this position extremely well.
How else are you involved on campus?
Currently I am involved in the Legacy Leadership and Mentoring Program and the John T Washington Honor Society. I have previously served on the executive board of the Multicultural Student center, John T Washington Honor Society and as a CROP Counselor for the university’s student outreach program. I have chaired my campus’ Annual World AIDS Day Banquet and many other events to promote diversity and inclusiveness among the students.
Where is your favorite place to eat?
I cannot decide on one place but I am always willing to try new things and take a risk on a place. On campus I would have to say my favorite place to eat is Chick-fil-A and on payday, Kyoto.
Where do you hope to be working 5 years from now?
I hope to be working at a hospital on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit floor assisting premature babies who are having difficulty feeding and swallowing.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time I like to surf the web and read random articles about issues that aren’t really common to hear about on the news and catch up on the celebrity updates every once in a while. I also enjoy spending time with my family and playing with my nieces and nephew.
What is one thing you regret not learning to do?
I regret not picking up French from my mother. Knowing to speak another language can not only help with your career, but also allows you to meet and connect with people of a different culture.
